Where Are They Now? Does This Foreshadow Pandora's Tower?

With the upgrade to next gen console the Wii U it appears Nintendo plans to release one more stellar exclusive title before consolidating down to Wii U.

This game is called Pandora's Tower and with a release date of April 16th this game promises to be a dungeon crawler, Final Fantasy and Xenoblade mixture. In other words another jRPG. I can almost guarantee this will be a rare, hard to find title just like Xenoblade.

Xenoblade came out about a year ago and was a GameStop exclusive. Now GameStop has stopped selling the game new, and prices of the game have skyrocketed. Used from GameStop prices can range up to 59.99$ and I've seen them on eBay ranging from 99.99$ to about 300$.

This shouldn't surprise you because this has happened before in Nintendo Universe for their exclusives. Two particular titles Metroid Trilogy and Super Mario All Stars. The trilogy debuted at about 49.99$ several years ago and is like pulling teeth to find a copy. Now the price fluctuates between 60-70$, and if you can find yourself a copy it probably won't have the real case!

And for Super Mario All Stars this game debuted around Christmas time retailing at about 29.99$. Nintendo at first only made a few thousand, but once they saw the sales they decided to make more, and after a successful second launch this game can sell for upwards of 59.99$ to about 300$. Funny thing is most of the games are all original Mario games which can be downloaded from the eShop channel.

I think this is foreshadowing Pandora's Tower's fate. For one the game is only 39.99$ and I can see by Christmas it being around 100$. It's the last Wii game, collectors will want this! Plus it can play on your Wii U. Recently Nintendo has been releasing fewer and fewer quantities of their titles such as Fire Emblem Awakening and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. This is for the reason it's cheaper for them to sell digital copies.  Now I doubt this game will be digital right away but it's a valid point to present.

I stray away from the point of the preview of Pandora's Tower just to forewarn you. However this game looks like a superior jrpg. It's essentially if Zelda had a Final Fantasy style battle system. The game includes dungeon crawling, and of course a great cast of voice actors to make it have that jrpg feel. Graphically it doesn't look like Xenoblade but graphics don't need to be everything when dungeon crawling. I mean it's Nintendo's Last Supper of sorts why waste all their efforts on this when they need to be focusing on X. Which will be the Wii U hot title to join this list of rare titles that disappeared.

I suggest buying this title, even if you don't have a Wii, it may be worth money some day and with the prices of Wii dropping you might as well give it a go. This game to be played is for the true jrpg fans but since Tales of Xilla and Ni No Kuni are PS exclusives it may give the fans something to play. Or Pandora's Tower will hold them over until a new Zelda game comes out for Wii U.

It's coming soon! April 16th to be exact pre order now!
