Jay from Gaming Society of America has chosen Moon Knight as his favorite Marvel character to never HAVE a movie.
Many people probably don't know who Moon Knight is. Or should I say, Marc Spector a former heavyweight boxer.
On a trip to Egypt as a archeologist he digs up some interesting loot with some friends of his. A mercenary Raoul Bushman, kills Spector's friend Dr. Alraune and nearly kills Spector in a fight.
Some Egyptians take him to a tomb where he sees a vision of the god the moon god Khonshu who makes him a avatar in exchange of fighting crime. The statue of Khonshu that spoke to him has a silver cloak on it, which is what he bases his costume on.
He is essentially Batman, fighting crime due to the loss of loved ones, he even has a side kick named Midnight (real original).
His powers include;
- Superb athlete
- Master at martial arts and hand-to-hand combatant
- Resistance to some psychic assaults
- Skilled acrobat, gymnast, and detective
- Expert aviator and marksman
- Possesses both traditional and sophisticated weaponry
A funny story in one of the comics is, Moon Knight makes use of the armor at one point to leave his costume supporting a building while defending himself in his underwear.
Additionally, Moon Knight can 'suit up' by use of a remote control device which assembles the individual pieces of his armor onto his body, similar in fashion to Iron Man.
IGN is quoted saying, " that the Moon Knight is more or less the concept of what would happen if the Batman were to suffer a multiple personality disorder."
Spiderman even notes that he suffers from identity disorder from merging with the gods!
His story has been rebooted several times and becoming more and more dark each time, he even teamed with the Avengers in Secret Avengers. This group included; Steve Rogers, War Machine, Valkyrie, Beast, and Nova.
Though no movie has even been announced for him, a tv show has been in the works for almost seven years now. Joh Cooksey writer of Rugrats and more was assigned to the job but nothing but scripts have been released thus far.
It's doubtful he'll ever have a movie or even a show, however you can play as Moon Knight in Marvel Ultimate Alliance across all platforms.
