Monday night's new hit "The Following" begs one question for viewers and of course for the audience, "Who can you trust and who can't you trust?"
Carroll's "cult" or "following" seems to dig deeper in this episode going into details on how he convinced a few of them to join his cause. He is seem as "God Like" figure because of his charisma.
We meet a new character Special Agent Debra Parker (Annie Parisse) who seems to know more than she's letting on though she is a specialist in cults.
Shawn Ashmore's character Mike Weston is not at all cold like his previous role as Iceman in the "Xmen Films" he is smoking hot. He's a tech savoy, FBI agent idolizing Hardy.
Not to go into to much detail on this episode however, Carroll who has his son's babysitter Emma Hill kidnapped him the previous epsiode has room arragned just like the boys so he feels more at home. This was easy seeing as Emma was feeding and spying for Carroll for over two years. Great character development is used in this episode also using the flashback feature to give more detail.
We get so entranced in this show that the actors that are brainwashed are doing double duty and pull it off so well.
We also learn that Hardy and Carroll's ex-wife Claire had a affair which entangles Hardy into being more of Carrolls second chapter. It also leaves us wondering is Claire more involved in this then she saying. I think she may have some repressed feelings for Carroll or maybe a killer herself.
One of Carroll's protege Jordy (Steve Monroe) who helped him escape, seems to always be one step away of the police and Hardy though he is sloppier than Carroll. Hardy is able to subdue him after a struggle though. And another masked man character is introduced after attacking Hardy. The mask the person wears was found in Emma's old apartment and resembles Poe himself.
The title of the episode really fits the series. It is the second chapter of a new book between the to characters. The final scene depicts Parker giving Carroll a Poe book while in jail. This seem to be reminded me of a Jesus like image. Now that he has his book back, he'll be able to begin getting more followers to keep this game going.
Greatest Review's gives "The Following" (Chapter Two s1/ep2 2013) 5 out of 5 stars. For truly not only living up to it's name but also living up to the episode title! Man this show keeps getting better and better. They could add in a million more characters and we'd be fine with it because they know how do delvelope them!

Review: "Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch" (2013) "Who's that familar?"
When I heard that the creator of Howl’s moving castle, Spirited away, other great Anime films
Hayao Miyazaki was making a PlayStation 3 exclusive called Ni No Kuni I was more than a little excited.
Now while this game’s beginning cut scenes is a beautiful anime art style that will make your jaw drop it leaves just as quickly as it comes for a more computerized style which after the hand crafted anime leaves a lot to be desired.
However, I am happy to say that that is really my only complaint and while the game is not a technical and graphical masterpiece like Uncharted, but it makes you feel like you are
playing in an anime and the characters that you will meet as Oliver along the way are beautifully fleshed out. Now the main protagonist Oliver will be who you will mainly be using the entire game now while the combat allows you to switch around which charter you want to control Oliver and his starting familiar which I will go into more detail later will be your go to guy.
Now for the combat imagine Final Fantasy meets Pokémon. If that sounds as fun and as
addicting to you as it does to me then this game will very quickly captivate you as you try and capture
the perfect familiar team. When you get into either a boss battle or even a fight with just the local
wildlife looking for more familiars to catch the whole battle field opens up and allows you to move and run around dodging attacks and getting behind monsters to land your own attacks, and while the
combat is fast paced and exciting you will find yourself fumbling with the controls sometimes trying to run away from your enemy and get to your special attack or spell ability.
Luckily the game pauses
whenever you push the L1 button meaning you can take a break from the action and plan your next
attack. Another interesting aspect is that there are two parallel worlds, Oliver’s world and the magical
familiar roaming world that Oliver is trying to save.
Now each person has a soul mate in the other world
that can be a spitting image of that person or could even be a completely different gender or species.
There was one quest where you had to help a Dragon get there confidence back up to fly in the magical world, while in Oliver’s world they are a human boy. These kinds of twists are refreshing and always make you have to pay attention to the clues to find the right person or animal.
However, while the combat may be intuitive and addicting make no mistake this game was
made for little kids. It will hold your hand and tell you how to do things numerous times. In fact it will hold your hand and tell you how to solve puzzles about 20hrs in and even then Drippy who is your loveable fair companion will still treat you like and idiot and tell you how to do things over and over again.
Now my only other complaint is that exploration is rather fickle in this game. While this is a
big open world to explore and once you have the tools necessary to explore the ocean and the sky you
will never know if you are traveling into a brutally high leveled area where the familiars will make you wish you have never even thought of going to this area, or they are the perfect level to grind and level up for a bit.
Also another important thing to learn is to diversify your party of familiars in fact this is the
best advice I can give you, while the game may hold your hand and treat you like a child on story
missions it leaves all your combat and party options up to you so always have a diversified party for in situation or you will find yourself running around the battlefield scoffing down bread and coffee trying to cast one last spell. Though again not like dying is any real travesty you only lose 10% of your total amount of money so while it may emasculate you when you get destroyed by an opposing team you can very quickly get back into the action an plan accordingly.
Now while this game may treat you like a toddler and not inform you on if the area you are
trying to explore is a beautiful land full of death or just the right level this game is truly remarkable and the story and characters will captivate you.
Greatest Review's gives "Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch" (2013) 5 stars out of 5. Oliver is a very grounded kid and you will enjoy his enthusiasm has he embarks on quests to save those who may not even deserve it and also for being an excellent experience and really worth the 40 plus hours you will be putting into it playing it again and again.

Post Raw 01-28-13: "Road To Wrestlemania"
Hello ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Tonight on episode three of Greatest in Reviewing, we’ve got just two words for ya..... Are you ready? Wait, that’s three words. What I meant to say was “Rumble Review!”
The rumble saw Miz injure himself in what potentially could have been a very good mid-card match. Cesaro is really looking more and more impressive every match.
Where was Ric Flair? We saw Miz go for the knee, which probably wasn’t the best idea considering he botched the move and injured his leg.
We jump to Del Rio vs Big Show, which was quick and painless. Well, painless for us at least. Not so much for Del Rio who was chokeslammed off the stage and through the table. "RICARDO GET THE TABLES", so transitioning from TNA Wrestling mode. However it was epic, though that Bret Hart gave recognition to Del Rio calling him the "Mexican Bret Hart" not sure how we feel about Del Rio calling Hart "Canadian Del Rio" Regardless this helped Del Rio push his face turn and popularity.
It was most likely all in vain though, since Booker T has plans for the World Heavy Weight title this Friday, which means he'll be defending his title at Elimination chamber. The winner of that will be simple, either Orton or Sheamus, so they can fight at Wrestlemania 29 for the title. I am hoping Orton wins and goes HEEL, thus rekindling the feud between Sheamus and Orton. Sorry Del Rio.
On Raw's side however, we won't see Rock defending his title in a chamber, only against the former champ Cm Punk. Guess you gotta be a movie star in order to fight less guys.
This title change was pretty predictable however, seeing as Cena won the rumble then they had the title match. And we all know that in the WWE Universe, "Once in a life Time" means twice or thrice! Sorry Punk, maybe you can fight Undertaker "Again" and do "Best in The World vs Best Streak in the World"
Great Royal Rumble match though! Kuddos to Y2J and ZIggler, who held on long and hard. Y2j is back baby "And he never lost it". This leaves sadness though that Ziggler won't be able to compete for both titles. I see WWE's point, but a match with Y2J for both titles would be great. The original undisputed champion vs the new!
Punk vs Rock finally saw Punk show how great he can wrestle. He destroyed Rock for much of the match, and then the Shield had to intervene. Punk took advantage picking up the pinfall. The major interference caused the match to be restarted, which saw the Rock win. We thought it would be a clean match, and also thought Rock could last a hour in the ring with Punk, but of course neither of those happened. SXE energy once again proves cleaner than steroid energy.
Spiling over into Raw saw Heyman's review, which was interrupted by non other than Brock Lesnar, who attacked Vince and took him out with a devastating F-5. It would take a blind person not to see Triple H vs Lesnar 2 resulting from this. Let's put Taker and Punk in the match and you got tag team match of the year!
Greatest Review's gives the actual matches of WWE's 2013 Royal Rumble 5 stars out of 5 for a soild show. Great pre show, great opening mid-card, and of course great finale; though it was predicable given the short lived feud between Rock and Punk. And of course it was predicable due to the fact that the Rumble match came before the main event... FINALLY Rock and Cena 2??
Greatest Review's gives the WWE 2013 Royal Rumble Match 5 stars out of 5 for a perfect match. Very unpredictable and teasing throughout! Feuds were ended, feuds were started, and one of best feuds was reignited. Congrats to John Cena, but we all know who you will be facing!
Remember guys "Greatest in Reviewing"

Match starts; Miz goes for a roll up for a two count. Back

count.
Miz goes up for a press and Cesaro catches him mid air for
amazing power slam! Sitout slam by
Cesaro for a two count. Now here come those amazing uppercuts! Now Cesaro continues
to power Miz. Uses what looks like a spinebuster dropped into a backbreaker.
Crowd starts cheering Miz who begins to mount a comeback
with his backbreaker, neckbreaker combo! Miz begins a furry of striking on
Cesaro in the corner then hits his signature flying smash. Then botches a
flying clothesline off the top rope landing on his knee! Ouch! Miz hits his DDT
for a two count! Cesaro tries to use the ropes for a roll up! Ref catches him
now Miz goes for Cesaro’s legs!
Miz’s knee is hurt! Cesaro regains control and hits the Neutralizer

Cesaro will also be an entrant in tonight’s Royal Rumble.
Now they show Rock and Punk’s short-lived feud, including
the Rock’s assault on by the Shield and of course Cm Punk’s most current “Pipe
Bomb”
**Remember if the Shield interferes in Punk’s match, Punk
looses the title!**
YES! YES! YES! ITS TIME!
Sick promo going through “Time” pertaining to the countdown
for Rumble entrants.
Punk is on 441 Days as champion and 15 Days in a Row that is
amazing! 10 years since the Rock
has been in the championship picture.
Last Man Standing Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Alberto del Rio (c) vs. Big Show
Now we kick it off with the World
Heavyweight championship match!
Big Show makes his way to the ring as
Cole and JBL go over how Del Rio won his world heavyweight champion. Both men
are even with rolling tables on each other.
Short segment between Ricardo and Del
Rio and none other than Bret Hart walks up and wishes him luck! Hart calls him
“Mexican Bret Hart” to which Del Rio responds to by calling Bret Hart a
“Canadian Del Rio”. Hart then gives Ricardo his signature glasses!
Huge pop for Ricardo as he comes out doing
the poses of the great Bret Hart. The crowd goes along with the cheer of
“ALBERTOOOOOOOOO DEL RIOOOOOO”.
And here we go with Show pummeling Del
Rio with punches and chops to which Del Rio comes back with kicks and punches.
“Big Show Sucks” chants begin as Show starts slamming Del Rio around. Every time Del Rio mounts offense Show
counters. Del Rio trips Show and
begins kicked him in the head to the “Si” chants from the crowd (Thanks Daniel
Bryan). Del Rio hits hurriacrana on Show! Then a West Coast Pop type move! Now
Del Rio goes for cross arm breaker, which is easily countered, into a back body
drop.
It takes Del Rio to a count of 7 to get
up. Show goes for the steel chair; Del Rio kicks show in the knee and begins an
assault with the chair. Show goes down for a count of 5, Big Show then choke
slams Del Rio. Takes Del Rio till 9 to get up then falls to the outside.
Show power slams Del Rio on the floor.
Del Rio is up at 7 barely holding on to the barricade. THEN LOW BLOWS Big Show
then a super kick to knock the giant down.
Show is up at 9. The two battles back
and forth to the top of the stage and Show Irish whips Del Rio into the
display. And begins breaking the florescent lights over Del Rio’s back. Show
then goes for a table then climbs the set area bringing Del Rio up to with him.
He then chock slams Del Rio off the set area through the table.
Del Rio is up at 9! Big Show begins to
drag Del Rio back to ringside and calls for the WMD. But Del Rio bails the ring
to avoid Show’s 80-inch reach.
Show then goes for the steel steps throwing them and missing Del Rio.
Ricardo goes after Show but gets thrown into the security wall. Show then goes
to spear Del Rio and rams head first into the barricade. Ref starts the count
and Show is up at 9.
Del Rio begins a huge steel chair
assault again. Then places Show’s arm in the steel steps, which he hits with
the chair, NOW we got the fire extinguisher blinding the giant. Now Del Rio
locks in the cross arm breaker while Ricardo tapes Show’s legs to the bottom
rope.
Ref begins his count! But Show can’t
get up because of his injured arm and taped legs.
Ref counts ten and Del Rio wins!
Winner
and still champion Alberto Del Rio

Not much buzz from the crowd.
Now Team Hell No to a mild
buzz, as Daniel Bryan covers his ears as Kane does his signature fire in the
ring posts.
Bryan and Rhodes start things
off, with Rhode chants, “Cody’s Mustache”.
Bryan grabs Rhodes foot mid
Disaster Kick and turns it into a surfboard submission.
Which Kane tags himself in
and dropkicks Rhodes as he’s in the submission. Rhodes hits Kane with a
beautiful drop kick. Now Sandow is in battling Kane.
Bryan comes back in and hits
Sandow with his “yes” or “No” kicks. Kane sends both Rhode Scholars out the ring as Bryan hits a
suicide dive! Or “Goat Dive” as the commentary team calls it.
Sandow starts an assault on
Bryan, now Rhodes back in stepping on Bryan. Rhodes puts half Boston crab on
Bryan who counters into a roll up for two. Sandow’s back in with his signature
elbow on Bryan. He attempts multiple pins on Bryan to no avail.
Then Bryan catches Rhodes with
a heel kick. Bryan starts mounting offense-knocking Sandow off the ring apron and
then DDT on Rhodes. Both men tag in and Kane hit’s Sandow with an uppercut.
Kane misses his flying clothesline
and Sandow hits a neckbreaker for two count. Now double suplex on Kane but
Bryan is the legal man, which Rhode Scholars did not see. Missile dropkick by

Albert) to “Albert Chants” however he’s cleaning house with his size. All men
then gang up on him to no avail.

and Ziggler hit the 20-minute mark. Number 15 is Darren Young! Who aids the 5 men to eliminate Brodus

The Great Khali (this should be entertaining). Khali drops everyone with chops
and headbutts. Cesaro goes to eliminate Sheamus but can’t.
Number 24 is Kane in his 16th
Royal Rumble and 14th in a row. He goes after everyone and tries to
eliminate Ziggler who dangles again!
Number 25 is none other than Zack Ryder who takes down Ziggler. Kane
eliminates Khali who is then eliminated by Daniel Bryan who is eliminated by Cesaro
not without the help of Kane since Bryan lands on Kane and who drops him.
Number 26 is the viper Randy
Orton to a huge pop! Who takes everyone out with Orton clotheslines and scoop
slams. Orton then does his rope ddt to Ziggler and Dallas THEN RKO on Ryder who
is then eliminated. Y2J and
Ziggler are up to 40 minutes.
Number 27 is Jinder Mahal who
goes after Sheamus. Cesaro tries to man handle Cena who throws Cesaro over the
top rope. Bye Cesaro. Ziggler goes flying again and still manages to get back in
the ring. Number 28 is AWESOME MIZ to a better cheer then earlier. Miz goes
after Cesaro before heading to the ring, with an injured ankle. Miz goes right
after Ziggler. Sheamus eliminates Mahal with a high knee.
Number 29 is Sin Cara to a
mild pop. And starts kicking everyone before he even gets in the ring. Sheamus
goes to eliminate Cena but can’t BUT Bo Dallas eliminates Barrett! Wade Barrett
runs back and pulls Bo over the top rope and hits him with the Bull Hammer.
And the final entrant at
number 30 is Ryback! Who goes after everyone and eliminates Sandow with easy.
Sin Cara starts kicking Ryback to no avail that squats him like a fly. And
throws Sin Cara on top of Sandow , then eliminates Miz for three in a row. Y2J
hits code breaker on Ryback and Lionsault on Cena. Code breaker to Ziggler who will not go! Ziggler super kicks
Y2J out of the ring eliminated him. Orton goes after everyone. We are down to
Orton, Ryback, Ziggler, Sheamus and Cena. RKOS for Cena, Ziggler, and of course
Sheamus. Now Orton hits the rope ddt on Ryback. RKO countered by Ryback who
eliminates Orton. Sheamus brogue kicks Ziggler out of the rumble.
NOW the final three. Sheamus,
Ryback, Cena. Sheamus and Cena go after Ryback with a double suplex. Both stare
at Wrestlemania sign then go after each other. Cena shoulder blocks to Sheamus.
Ryback hits Cena with the meathock. Then Sheamus hits white noise on Ryback.
Sheamus goes for Brogue kick
but Ryback catches him and throws him out of the ring.
Down to two, Ryback and Cena. Then go into a fistfight and Ryback hits Cena with a spinebuster. Cena drops Ryback into the STFU.

Kaitlyn (c) vs. Tamina
Skipped for some reason?????
WWE Championship Match:
CM Punk (c) vs. The Rock
Rock interview with Josh
Matthews begins with “Finally the Rock has come back to Phoenix”. Rock says his mother never quit with
cancer so he’ll never quit. And also that the fans count and are the most
important to the Rock.
The first out is Cm Punk to a
huge pop of cheering and booing! The crowd screams with him that it’s
“CLOBBERIN’ TIME!”
Rock comes out to a huge pop
as well, which is by far louder than Cm Punk’s.
The crowd screams for Rock’s
introduction, Punk’s introduction is loud but mixed.
Now we hear the “Cm Punk”
chants.
Rock begins with his typical
Rock punches until Punk out slams him then Rock counters with clotheslines.
Rock takes it to Punk on the floor and goes for the Spanish announce table.
Back and forth cheering and
Cm Punk fixes the announce table for Spanish announcers. Heyman distracts Rock so Punk can take
the advantage and once again fixes the announce table. Punk goes after the Rock’s ribs on the
barricade after Rock’s injuries from Shield on Monday.
Punk starts kneeing the Rock
in the ribs. First pin fall and it’s a kick out at 2 for the Rock. Punk uses
some unique submission to try and choke out the Rock. Now Rock comes back with
punches but Punk counters with a heel kick.
A “Knees to faces” “Boots 2
Asses” chants break out. Punk keeps bringing the hurt to Rock! And Heyman again
attacks Rock while the Ref is distracted. Punk dropkicks Rock to the outside
but injures his knee in the process. Punk then flies off the top rope for a
flying forearm but hurts his knee again.
Rock now brings the fight to
Punk’s knee back in the ring. Punk hits the best suicide dive ever on Rock.
Punk goes for his springboard clothesline and misses and now Rock takes the
fight back to the knee.
Punk goes for GTS, Rock
counters in sharpshooter, Punk counters again into anaconda vise. Rock escapes
and Punk hits Rock with a DDT.
Rock is up first and hits Punk with the sharpshooter and Punk is in
pain! Punk makes it to the ropes but his legs give out and falls outside, Rock
finally gets Punk on the announce table and Punk kicks him in the head.
Punk signals for the GTS on
the table but Rock counters into the Rock Bottom BUT before he can the table
breaks! Both men get up and Rock hits the ROCK BOTTOM ON THE FLOOR. Rock rolls
Punk back in and gets a 2 count!
Battling Chants again. Punk
plays possum and kicks Rock’s head off.
Both men are up and Punk goes for kicks while Rock punches. Now a back
and worth punching match which ends up with the Rock flying fore arm then
spinbuster. Rock goes for People’s Elbow BUT lights go out. And the Shield is
heard triple power bombing Rock through the table. Punk is in the ring
laughing, as Rock lies motionless outside.
Cole confronts Punk who’s
says “He has nothing to do with Shield”. Punk drags Rock in the ring and goes
for the pin and WINS!
PUNK HAS DONE IT!!!! BEST IN
THE WORLD He then kicks Rock out of the ring.
BUT WAIT HERE COMES VINCE!
Rock stops Vince from
stripping Punk as champ and says “You don’t take the title from him I am,
restart the match now!”
Which Vince lets him; NOW
Punk is kicking and punching the life out of the Rock. The crowd is screaming
“Rocky” Punk hits his high knee and goes for the elbow drop, for a two count!
Punk gets ready for the GTS
but Rock counters with another spinebuster! AND HERE COMES THE PEOPLES ELBOW!
1..2….3 AND THE ROCK HAS
WON!!!!!! NEW WWE Champion the Rock! 10 years later!

Review: “Movie 43” (2013) “43 Reasons Why This Movie Should Never Have Been Made, Well Maybe 12.”
I don’t know where the name of “Movie 43” came from. If it
is the amount of talented cast used in the film? Or maybe it is the fact that
“Movie 43” should have only been 43 minutes but somehow managed to drag on for
over an hour and a half. Honestly I don’t really want or care to know at this
point.
The movie consists of 12 technical parts, but in theory only
eleven. Seeing as the main part of the movie is Dennis Quaid’s character
“Charlie Wessler” selling his idea of the perfect movie in 11 parts.
10 of these storylines are just mediocre at best, with cheap
laughs and no real point. I mean with such a great cast why couldn’t they have
made a decent movie.
This movie had the potential to be the biggest team up of
many stars since “Marvel’s Avengers” that may sound a little bold but when
using just about every movie star of the last 25 years shouldn’t greatnesses be
expected?
We did however see a powerful reunion between “Kick Ass”
stars, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloë Grace Moretz. They segment entitled
“Middleschool Date” was probably the best out of the 10. Don’t worry I won’t
spoil this for our reviewers though I would be doing them a favor. (Don’t worry
there is still one more)
I use the word “best” very loosely due to the fact that it
was teenage humor; a friend said the best quote to describe this cluster of a
movie. He said, “To a bunch of 16 year-olds they would love this movie, anyone
else would hate it.” I can see why!
However as I mentioned earlier there are more or one more
part, and this more is the saving grace of this movie, which actually made it
worth reviewing. This saving grace has a name and it’s none other than Terrance
Howard.
He truly is the reason I even saw the movie, the commercial
they mostly used on television was his “inspiration” speech to his all black
basketball team, assuring them they could win their match because, “They’re
black.”
This was the only part that made sense though this could
have stood out and been It’s own clip or even a short film. If I was Howard I
would feel dishonored to be apart of the rest of the parts of the film.
The reason why this makes the most sense is because it’s the
most believe and factual. Of course in the 1950s racism was still high and of
course white people dominated most sports. All sports except for one, which is
basketball transforming Howard into a “tough guy” coach believing in his team.
Ever see “Remember the Titans” it has similar idea to this part of “Movie 43”
except more comical.
I could get into more but frankly I don’t want to, sorry
Halle Barry but I am seeing a sign. First “Catwoman” one of the worse movies of
all time and now, “Movie 43” I am not convinced.
Greatest Reviews gives “Movie 43” ½ of star out of 5. The
only reason this even registered on our scale is the fact that Terrance Howard
fought through 10 other terrible parts to make a great short to a horrible
film.

Review: “The Following” (Pilot S1/Ep1 2013) “Fox Looks To Be Following Nolan’s Dark Knight”
Let me start off by saying that I am one of the biggest
“Batman” fans on the planet. I have a “Batman” tattoo sleeve and every statue
from all the games.
Now Fox has sure hit cable television with one of the best
pilots for show that I have ever seen. “The Following” follows retired FBI
agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) as he looks to end the massacre of serial killer
Dr. Joe Carroll (James Purefoy). Hardy’s success came from putting away this
mass serial killer obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe and a “hopeless romantic”.
To not spoil the episode I’ll set the scene of the series,
which is depicted strongly. For one I saw a nod at Bacon’s previous role in
“X-men First Class” because the opening music which showed Bacon’s character
reminded me of the “First Class” instrumental music.
To sum up the first episode it actually finishes a older
story between the characters then begins a new one. We see flashback sequences
through each characters introductions which paint a vivid violent seen of the
hunt for Dr.Carroll. Then at the end a tense standoff between in a jail holding
cell sets it’s sights on a brand new series Fox is using.
This final scene is set up just like the scene between
“Batman” and “Joker”, when “Joker” is placed under arrest in Nolan’s
blockbuster “The Dark Knight” (2008). Hardy (Bacon) being “Batman” is looked at
a hero and insightful in stopping Dr.Carroll’s (Purefoy) character, which
resembles the “Joker” in terms of insanity.
Hardy’s sanity is called in to question many times in the
episode especially the fact that he is a alcoholic much like “Batman’s” sanity.
I believe Fox utilized Nolan’s
ideas of the meeting of The Dark Knight and his greatest rival because it
worked and made over a billion dollars.
And so far this worked. Dr.Carroll uses the calling card of writing
“Nevermore” on the wall in blood, which again if you remember Joker left his
own playing cards at the scenes of his crimes.
The premise of the first episode is Dr.Carroll escaping from
prison to finish his last victim. He is so obsessed with the fact that Edgar
Allan Poe never finished his last book that he could not let his last victim
live. The “Tell-Tale Heart” and
“Raven” are consistently mentioned throughout the episode and the episodes
music makes nods to this by consistently having a heart beat. This is done for
other reason to because Hardy’s character was stabbed in the heart during the
fight between Carroll when Carroll was arrested. Leaving Hardy with a pace
maker and bad heart. The beating heart is also used in tense bringing
situations that also seem to have horror movie elements.
This episode truly left me on my seat through the flashbacks
and actual present. Fox after every commercial warned viewer discretion advised
which they weren’t kidding. This show seems to be a lot darker than Nolan’s
PG13 films and goes at no expense to show the blood and gore of every death
scene. I do however question Fox’s choice for timeslot knowing how graphic the
show is but then I think this could possible be a replacement for “House”.
The title of the show “The Following” is explained in the
episode to which it is a cult. Dr.Carroll is so perceptive that he is able to
get people to join this “cult” which he calls his “friends” through chat rooms
while in jail. This makes getting his last victim easy also leaving the
watchers wondering who is in this “cult” and who isn’t.
The previews depict a battle strong between good and evil
just like “Batman” and also how far everyone will have to go. That breaking point
which has to be met, and Fox has promised us that and more in 12 straight weeks
of “The Following.”
Greatest Review’s gives “The Following” (2013) (Pilot Ep.1)
5 stars out of 5, for a riveting story. Also by being able to end one story and
begin another without leaving out any of the details in just their first
episode. We also praise the fact that Fox uses themes from Christopher Nolan’s “The
Dark Knight” to make a damn good show.

Review: "Nintendo Wii U" (2012) "Boy Oh Boy Do We Have A Wii U Review For U"
Nintendo Wii U Greatest Review
Ever
Please follow these instructions from Greatest Reviews On
The Net and you will be ok;
This system want to be your HD TVs best friend and you
should let it.
It wants to be your new high-end universal remote. Let it.
It wants to be your Family Internet hub with its tablet and TV
browser, Hulu, Amazon Instant Video and Netflix. It wants you to use Video chat
and Nintendo TVii.
It wants to be your best gaming experience, trust me and LET
IT!
Lets at the very beginning.
Nintendo has been in the home console business for over 25
years with each iteration being more innovative than the last, NES or Famicom
with the now standard D pad, select, start, A and B buttons. The SNES or super
Famicom added the L, R and X, Y buttons now industry standards. The N64 had the
first shipped analog stick and the Gamecube had the wavebird wireless
controller although not shipped with the system was a 1st part
controller that was wireless! SEGA, Sony and Microsoft would later copy these
things. That’s right Nintendo was the first and best! The Wii was obviously an
amazing but cautious step into the world of movement controllers. Nintendo
execs were quoted as saying they could have sold the Wii at $100 at launch and
still made a small profit. It was later mimicked through the Playstation Move,
which flopped, and Microsoft Kinect. A small note to further this the 3DS is
the top handheld in the world and has been consistently against Sony’s
Handheld. Quoting a Sony Rep; “You can’t make a handheld for 300$ (PsVita) and
except Tommy’s mom to buy it when she can buy a 3DS for 170$”
Now here we are at present day and Nintendo has released its
Wii U console, saying the children’s gloves are off as they are going after the
hard core gamer and this looks to be the console to do that.
The system reviewed is the 32gb Black Wii U Deluxe. A very “sexy”
looking and much larger system than the 2006 Wii, it has two front USB ports
and an SD card slot hidden under a tab on the front. The back sports a large fan;
HDMI out and regular AV out for the people still without HD, sensor bar slot
and of course power spot.
This console looks great with the included stand its as it’s
not as bulky as the original Wiis, which did, that crooked stylized thing. The
Wii Us stand reminds me of the PS3 minis stand straight and elegant matched
most TV styles. This is important, as you wouldn’t want to move this system too
often as it obtains scratches and fingerprints quite easily. Just like the
dreaded Xb360 circle scratch however the games lock in much better.
The controller is a hybrid Tablet gaming controller with
front facing camera, mic and NFC chip and motion controls. The screen is about the size of an iPad
mini with 6.2” LCD touch screen.
Visually it seems quirky but after a short play you get the
feeling for it and what Nintendo had in mind with a GameCube controller and DSi
XL mix. The screen is bright and vibrant and looks like it will stand up with
kid play. The touch screen is as responsive as you need it to be for gaming
with virtually any lag with it and the TV.
As a media remote the Nintendo TVii takes down your favorite
tv shows and stations and will basically replace your cable remote. With its
built in guides it finds you your shows with a few touches. Combing DVRs and
other saved shows making life a breeze when you want to watch your recorded
episodes of “Survivor”.
The three video streaming apps act like they would on tablet
but with a second screen, one that made its way with me out on the porch and in
to the kitchen. It apparently can go about 20’ before it yells at you that the
controller has lost its signal.
The built in web browser works great but does not support
flash but like the iPad it support html 5 pages. Sorry no facebook here at
least until an app comes along.
But if your
using a Wii U the Mii Universe is your social media spot!
As a gaming console at launch time it can be hard to say
what will come from the Iii U, with some ports of previously released games and
a few new Big M titles the question is will third parties support. . Graphically
the system can more than hold its own as revealed by Hacker Marcan, the “Wii U
is powered by a Tri-Core PowerPC-based CPU built by IBM. It clocks in at about
1.24GHz. “The interesting thing is that the CPU is based on an out-of order-
design, a processing method that is more efficient. Think iPhone 5’s A5
processor, clocks in a little slower but can run better thanks to some cleaver
design work, they can run at a lower power with lower heat making a higher
speed unnecessary. The other important item is the 550 MHz AMD RV7xx Based GPU.
Sounds Greek to most but take a look at the Wii U’s Garden graphics demo. It
shows what the system is capable of.
For the first time we are seeing the unreal engine running
on a Nintendo console with Batman: Arkham City. The Game runs great for
something that was pretty quickly coded. The frame rate in some instances run
at a high 40s and can dip to mid 20s. However the controller tablet integration
is what makes most games shine. The extra screen clears clutter on the TV
making things like maps or weapon switching in the palm of your hands and very
intuitive.
Nintendo 1st party games will always bring the
goods. The bundled Nintendoland is
a mish mash of mini games with themes from great Nintendo games from the past
and present. Some mini games are single player only showing some different
ideas the team Nintendo have come up with. There is a Mario multi player game
where the player takes the tablet and is chased by others who are using the Wiimotes
using the tv.
BUT don’t go rushing out to trade in your old Wii’s because
your going to want to use all your old Wii accessories on the Wii U. Especially
Wiimotes with built in motion plus since this is a MUST for some of the
Nintendoland games! The player being chased uses only the tablet and has a view
of the entire map while the other player have a limited view. All the games are
simple but fun and show what the game and system s all about.
A few games with huge potential and awesomeness on the Wii U
are; “Sonic & Sega All Star Racers: Transformed”, “New: Super Mario Bros.
Wii U”, “Assassin’s Creed 3”,
“Zombi U” and of course, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2”. “Sonic” as you can image
is just as good as the original “All Star Racing” and of course having the
additions of playing on the tablet screen and transforming mid game are pluses.
This game is a far answer to why no Mario Kart was released with the console.
What separates the Wii U version from the rest of the consoles is the fact that
with a swipe of the finger you go from playing on the TV to the tablet.
There is not much one can say about Mario except Mario games
are always great. Except this one is incredibly hard and you should play with
more than just yourself. But in extreme cases when you can’t you can also with
the swipe of a finger go from TV to Wii U.
AC3 is probably the best I’ve ever seen. We waited a extra
month from the games original launch on the other consoles so we could test it
out on the Wii U. Controls are user friendly if your using the Wii U Pro
Controller it feels like your playing the game on Xbox. The graphics are
stunning except there is some glitches but I notice this is across all
platforms.
Blacks Ops is amazing like AC3 Nintendo promised the same
DLC that the other consoles have launching the Wii U into the field with the
big boys. The online for Black Ops is already even broken which is a little
ironic.
What’s cool about the games we mentioned excluding Mario
these games are across platforms? The difference between Wii U and other
consoles is the fact that you have better graphics, and can also play on the
tablet screen and are not limited to just the TV. PLUS DLC just likes the 360
and Ps3.
Which promises more to come. We were able to sit down with
David Howard a huge Nintendo fan since the original consoles back in the 1980s.
Gabe our editor asked him a series of questions.
Gabe: “Why do you like the Wii U, compared to every other
console?”
David: “Seeing as I’ve owned every system the Wii U has the
best mechanics and is the most unique. However Nintendo hasn’t even utilized
the Wii U’s full potential.”
Gabe: “So far what is your favorite game?”
David: “My favorite game thus far is “Scribblenaunts
Unlimited”? Due to the fact that it is truly unlimited compared to the Ds
games. I’ve made Jason from “Friday the13th”, I’ve made Dale Gribble anything I
can imagine can be placed in the game.”
Finally I asked him;
Gabe: “What would you like to see as a Nintendo fan.”
David: “Simple, 3rd party support, return of
classic Nintendo franchises never utilized in the US. And if Ps3 and 360 are
consistently getting HD collections put them on a console where they’ll
actually matter.”
Greatest Review’s gives the Wii U (2012) 5 stars out of 5.
As a gamer I am happy. As a tech guy I am happy. Buy this system and be
pleasantly surprised as how this system transforms its self into your
entertainment hub. Enjoy!
Review: "Devil May Cry: DMC" (2013) "In A World Of Reboots DMC Slashes It's Own Name."
This reboot of the “Devil May Cry” series
raises a lot of questions on whether or not Ninja theory did Dante justice by
changing his look, his voice actor, and his origin by making his mother an
angle instead of just a normal human. I am proud to say that they were able to
pull it off bringing new life into a character and opening the doors for more
games to follow. To clear the air the new Dante does not act emo… doesn’t bitch
or wine about his mother’s death, he doesn’t wear makeup or talk about how much
pain he is in and how futile life is.
He is though a confused and somewhat tortured soul, he has
been forced to fight demons ever since he was a little child and even had to
kill all the demons in the orphanage that he was living in. Given his
personality grounds as to why he acts the way he does. Ninja theory also
harkens back to the old Dante as well with his witty quips to demons and his
impossible feats of strength and agility in cut scenes. They also made a rather
obvious statement rather early in the game when a long haired white wig falls
on to Dante’s head and he looks in the mirror and states “not in a million
years” meaning that this is a new younger Dante, and more importantly that this
is their version of Dante. Now
while many fans of the old Dante hated the new look I personally didn’t mind it
Dante needed a reboot there have been no new DMC games for 7 years when the PS3
first came out my only complaint was the change in voice actors but the new guy
Tim Phillips did a surprisingly good job and brought a lot more emotion and
believability into the character.
Now while we can argue about his looks all
day but it’s time to move on from that and into the new combat system. The main
new changes that have been made were the removal of the style changing system
from Devil May Cry 4 for a newer, sleeker, and faster combat system. Throughout
the game you will be acquiring 6 extra weapons after you acquire Rebellion and
Ebony and Ivory. The changes that Ninja Theory makes it so that you can switch
between these weapons quickly and more fluidly so that you can keep the
momentum of combat moving. Also all the motion capture that the actors did have
not gone to waste Dante’s moves look much more believable and it looks like his
moves actually carry weight and momentum.
Another interesting addition to the combat is
the ability to spend and return your upgrade points. In the game you gather
upgrade points you can use to unlock combos or weapon damage, and if you decide
that the combo you unlocked doesn’t fit your play style then you can simply
take the point out and put it in another skill which gives the player a lot of
freedom on how they want to play the game. Now amongst all of these great positives and fun aspects of
the game there are a few glaring negative I need to address and that is the
awfully short play time, no replay ability, and rewarding players for barreling
through levels. On the story side
it only took me about 9 hours to complete on Nephilium which was the hardest
start off difficulty and while I did thoroughly enjoy myself and yes there are
harder difficulties to play and beat the game on after that I didn’t find
myself really wanting to go back and re beat it on a higher difficulty I had
beaten the game an knew how it ended there really wasn’t anything keeping me
engaged after I had done all there was to do.
Another gripe I had was the fact that the
game would time you and reward you the faster you finish a level. That idea to
me was ludicrous you already have a short game why encourage players to not
look at all the work you put into it but instead reward them for rushing
through the game as quickly as possible. What DMC will need to do for a sequel
is take a note from “Darksiders” and open up its world. The mission to mission
linear game play style go old a while ago, now if after I beat the game there
was still a whole world to explore and secrets to find like in “Darksiders”
then its replay ability would have been high. However, there is not there is
only mission to mission hopping with little exploration because the developer
would rather you rush through their game so you can trade it in the next
day.
Greatest Reviews gives “Devil May
Cry: DMC” (2013) 4 and half stars out of 5 for its excellent combat system,
good story and voice acting I would have to say try and rent it if you can
because once you beat it and are not a completionist like me then you will have
nothing to occupy your time once the curtain goes down. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Review: "Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale" (2012) "A Fight Battle For Coexistence"
Ever wonder what it would be like to play as Nathan Drake"Uncharted" , or go toe to toe with Cole from "Infamous" then this game is for you! Ever want to play a game on your PS3 then pick up again on your vita? Or want to challenge others from all current Sony devices then this game is for you!
So let’s quickly get this misconception out of the way that is, "PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royal" a complete rip off of the "Super Smash Bros" series? In short no, the main concept is of course but many other companies use other games as inspiration so Sony shouldn’t be knocked for taking a great idea like super smash brothers and injecting a very welcome and intelligent combat system with all the iconic and even a few welcome third party characters. Plus Nintendo missed one major concept. The fact that you can play the game on your vita or ps3. I mean for the price it's great you get two games!
We are all Nintendo fan's here but we're sick of waiting for the "Super Smash Bros." for Wii or even Wii U with cross game play for the Nintendo 3DS.
Now starting it off all the characters are immediately unlocked meaning that there is really
no reason to do the single player story other than to get the trophies and to get familiar on how each
character handles and how their specials work. Which is a distinitive difference in both games, seeing as how you have to unlock characters in "Super Smash Bros." Another difference between "PlayStation All Stars" and "Super Smash Bro"s other than the characters is that the only way to beat your opponent is to use a super attack.
There are three levels to a character’s super level one being the weakest and the easiest one to interrupt or dodge. Then the level two which is much harder to interrupt or dodge and finally the
level three which for the most part is impossible to dodge depending on which character activated it. Also another noteworthy addition is that every character handles completely differently from the other with completely different attack, grabs, and supers to boot.
The character that I was immediately drawn to was Dante from the "Devil May Cry" series he handles quite well and I found myself having a lot of fun. I loved pulling off
long complicated air combos keeping my opponents in the air for a good period of time.
Unfortunately the character roster is quite small only 20 characters to start off I believe but Superbot has promised more characters to come as free downloadable content. Also none of the items in the game are memorable I can only name about two of the items off the top of my head and that is the Hedgehog Grenade from "Resistance" and Medusa’s head from "God of War". Also some of the characters are simply too overpowered either because of their size or sheer aggressiveness. For example "Sackboy" builds up action points far too quickly which is how you execute your supers and is impossible to hit because of his small stature, or "Sly Cooper" can infinitely teleport his way around the battlefield using his smoke screen ability which has no cool down time whatsoever and his level one has a ridiculous kill range.
In conclusion "PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale" is a fun addition to Sony’s already large roster of
games bringing all of your Sony characters together and watching them beat the "crap out" of each other and with very few character balancing issues. There is always room for improvement in games, but Sony does strive for excellence as always.
Greatest Reviews gives; "PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale" (2012) 4 stars out of 5. Due to character selection though there is hope in the the future for move characters. Plus with cross game play you can't go wrong. This is by far Sony's best cross game-play game and they saved the best for last ending the 2012 year.

Review: "Gangster Squad" (2013), "Potenial Choose Suicide By Cop"
Gangster squad, the latest film covering the 1940s gang wars in LA came out Friday, and I finally got my chance to see it today!
The trailer for this movie looked fantastic with he dialogue however the music choice could have foreshadowed that the movie left room for failure. Using a song from this decade and placing it a 1940's movie? True it had some "rap" feel to it which may be a play on the title "Gangster Squad" Come on, the production crew should take a look at last years "Lawless" (2012) it may have been music not from the Depression Era, but music that fit the film so well.
According to the story based on true events, a group of misfit police officers take matters into their own hands to fight a powerful mob leader, Mickey Cohen (played by Sean Penn).
The squad is led by John O'mara (played by Josh Brolin) a very decorated and honorable soldier. O'mara is comparable to Chris Evan's portrayal of "Captain America", playing the role of a selfless enforcer of Justice.
Unfortunately nothing too stellar to note, I feel like his character was decent but not great. The second in command per-say is Jerry Wooters (played by Ryan Gosling), a washed-up cop who joins the crew after matters with the mob affect him personally. Wooters character had a very mixed impression on me. I felt as if he went from hard-ass to soft guy way too often without any real rhyme or reason. It left me wanting to scream "make up your damn mind!" Every other time he was on screen.
The mob leader and retired boxer Mickey Cohen was convincing. He was ruthless and smart, in my eyes by far the best portrayed character. His girlfriend grace (played by Emma Stone) was well just as beautiful as you remember. An aspiring actress caught up in the mob life, Grace plays a very good damsel in distress.
The action scenes is where this movie truly blossoms. If your looking for some jazz, explosions, gunfights, fist fights and the works this may be the movie for you. Add in a couple clever one liners and you'll have all the makings for a classic action movie. Just wait 60 years from now when this movie is on the Retro channel. It'll be even more interesting because the time of which it takes place will be over 120 years old.
Gangster squad in my opinion was a decent movie that was cursed with a poorly written script. Most if not all of the cast did an excellent job working with what I believe was nothing, and salvaged what should have been an awful movie.
Greatest Reviews gives "Gangster Squad" (2013) 3 1/2 stars out of 5. So its not fair to review the cast, because they were plagued by a bad script. I don't think they knew what they were getting into.

Review: "Two and Half Men" (Grab a Feather and Get In Line S10/Ep13) Stale And Reuses Sheen-Moments
This episode is truly a flashback of a older episode where Allan becomes concern over Charlies womanizing and drinking. Except Walden or should I say Sam has been eating constantly for three weeks in his stress over pretending to be other person to impress his girlfriend Kate.
I liked one aspect of the episode and it was the fact that Walden and Allan go to New York to see Kate and the whole time Allan wants to see a show. Leading to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liYPKuBRmgI i.e. "The Douche Song". The people of New York break out into a muscial to tell Walden that he's a "Douche" for lying to Kate.
From this we also get the title of the episode, Walden goes to New York to tell Kate who he really is and shows up at her fashion show. And guess what! Walden feels like he is going to throw up and whats the stereotype about models? They throw up, so Allan tells him to "grab a feather and get in line".
I had major to minor complaints about this episode. Besides the fact that the main plot was reused from the Sheen era. Also Allan's character is really starting to bother me. 10 years and still the same person nothing on him as changed and it drives me nuts! Earlier in the season he finally gets the girl and you think, maybe he'll change now that his what could be third marriage the woman actually likes him back! But nope your wrong Allan is the same old Allan from the Sheen era.
Lastly the thing that bothered me most was the ending of the episode felt like another Sheen moment. Walden is honest on how he feels and 100% truthful, the girl being Kate leaves and happens to be better off with out him. This has happened to Charlie every relationship he has ever had, this is a old theme that used in just about every love plot for the main character.
With 2013 I was hoping for change and "Two and Half Men" is at a rough start!
Greatest Reviews' gives "Two and Half Men" (Grab a Feather and Get In Line S10/Ep13) 2 1/2 stars out of 5. Due to the fact that you can't reuse the same elements and themes for 10 years.
