So today the first official teaser of Batman Arkham Origins.

And I'm left with much anticipation and also fears for this game!

Granted I know it was just a trailer to silence the fans since the games announcement a few months back, but this cinematic trailer seemed more like another Christopher Nolan film than a video game.

I understand that's the way video games are headed these days but come on, I want there to be a distinction between my Batman video games and movies just saying.

My other issue that I had was Batman's suit seemed better than the one he left Arkham City with at the end of the second game. This could just be me, but this was a ninja awesome suit that could combat with Deathstroke. What happens to this suit in the future?

That aside my feelings of the trailer are that this is a final or climatic scene showing a much wiser Batman finally able to finish the villains on Christmas night!

The background was awesome and I hope they incorporate all the weather effects of the snow and cold temperature in the fighting and overall playability of the game!

Besides Batman's battle with the assassin's and Deathstroke, he'll also be fighting Black Mask and other mob members. And lets not forget this will tell the story on how Penguin got his glass eye and of course Commissioner Gordan will only be the Captain at this point.

This is the ultimate teaser leaving such great anticipation for this game seeing as a lot of the things we loved of the previous games are gone! I still have faith in the Bat, but I do hope that Deathstroke is a lot stronger than he appears to be in the video!

Today couldn't bring a huger or better announcement for us!

The new Batman game has finally been given a release date, title and of course plot!

Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on October 25, 2013. The plot is a prequel like all games these days. But hey every hero needs their prequel am I right?

We know what will happen and why Joker met his fate but we don't know how he it got to this point between the two! I can't see moving forward for awhile without ruining the series.

This game will not be developed by Rocksteady Studios this time around, instead being worked on in-house at Warner Bros. Games Montreal. Which I'm okay with because the team consists of Eric Holmes, lead designer of games including The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Prototype.

What has me both exciting and a little yancy is the idea of Batman meeting most of his villains for the first time. How far back are we going guys?  Deathstroke is confirmed for this game, and is on the cover with Batman for this months game informer!

I really just want to see Joker not going to lie but I'm hoping this game plays like Uncharted 3 with flashbacks and moving forward. But according to Game Informer the point of the game is the 8 Assassin's that come to Arkahm City on Christmas Eve to finish the bat. These are the defining villains who make the batman we've seen in the past games! This game is so close to Batman year one, I don't know why they don't call it Batman Year One!!

Something also interesting to note is this game is not a next gen game, it has been announced for PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360, let's give it one last bam before we get to next gens.

But if this game produces the same stunning graphics as the first two, why even bother with next gen? Another cool feature is Ps Vita and 3DS will have their own versions titled title, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. These games will have the same release date and brought to you buy them minds of the makers of Metroid Trilogy. So hopefully a good super hero game finally for hand held??

I have high standards for this game for plot, controls and everything but graphics. This because two weeks prior to it's release Beyond: Two Souls comes out and with their engine only performing at about 30% in their last game they promised to dominate!

Check back here for more on Batman: Akrham Origins coming soon (10/25/13)!

Review: "God Of War: Ascension" (2013) "Before He Was A Man, Before There Was Sex-Mini Games."

This Game had a lot of expectations to live up to being the seventh game in the series. Every interview I watched was the developers stating that this was going to be one of the more story focused God of War games showing us Kratos’ more human side and what truly made him the vengeful merciless man that he would become.
Unfortunately as in every God of War game the story takes a back seat to the action so the fact that Kratos really doesn’t become any more of a human character and that his struggles are not made relatable is a real shame and a waste of potential.

**Borrowed From Sony**
That is really my one big complaint with this game though on the bright side and luckily the action and beautiful set pieces and actually intelligent puzzles will keep you entertained and with the surprising addition of multiplayer still makes this game a good addition to the God of War series just not a great one.
The most noticeable change in the game when playing single player is the fact that you do not get a plethora of weapons which you may never use unless fighting a particular boss but different elemental attacks fire, lightning, water, and soul.

This changes the game more than you think it would allowing you to quickly change between elements to vary your assault you could use fire to build your rage meter up more quickly and then switch to your electric powers to cast lightning like Emperor Palpatine on your enemies.

Your main enemies this time around are three fury sisters who take broken pacts to Gods rather seriously and they hunt Kratos down and capture him to forever be imprisoned for breaking his pact with Mars the God of War.

The three Fury sisters are diverse in their specialties the first one you fight and kill  Megaera is very insect looking with here strengths being in using her insects to infect living things to do her bidding. The other two furies you will be fighting at the same time since after killing the first one they stick together in a petty attempt to stay alive and they are Tisiphone, and Alecto. The way Kratos is able to actually defeat the furies is with the help of Orkos the Oath keeper who after seeing what his mothers’ did decided that they had strayed from the path of justice and needed to be killed. The part of the game that I feel needed more attention was the torture, that these women put Kratos through this would have been one way to avoid all of the bad publicity for the “Bros before Hoes” trophy if the God of War team would have been able to convey how cruel and evil those furies were then no one would have had a problem with how Kratos executed them because they deserved a brutal death.
On the subject of death it never felt and looked so good dispatching the game’s mini bosses: Medusa like snakes, demons from Hades, Chimera, Elephant warriors, Witches, and Cyclopes. While some of the enemies are reused the way you dispatch them is executed wonderfully if not a little redundant however, I was hoping that there would be at least three variations on how you executed the enemies the first and second time you cut straight through an Elephant warrior’s skull to reveal its brains is satisfying but after the 100th time of seeing the same execution it loses its charm. Though the boss fights with the Furies and even a few other deserving victims really are a lot of fun and when you finally crush a tough enemy under your sandaled foot it brings nothing but joy.
On an interesting side note I do believe that this is the first God of War game to actually not have a sex minigame! While the absence of this is not truly heart breaking it was always a hilarious edition. Though don’t be too worried the developers seemed to take this into account and while the Furies themselves do not have their breasts out every other female enemy you fight most certainly does, and while it isn’t a complaint it is rather surprising and comical when you are having a life or death battle with a Medusa snake and you notice her breasts have been hanging out the whole time.
It is now time to address the Elephant warrior in the room is the multiplayer in God of War Ascensions good?
The answer to that is a definite yes!
While my disappointment with the single player was in its lack of story I never thought I would be saying that a multiplayer edition to a game would actually be a redeeming factor. You start off by picking out of four God’s to swear you allegiance to, but don’t be worried you can switch allegiances at any time to experiment and find your play style.
The armor and weapons have also been redone offering more to play with and experiment with. The new weapon added is only the spear though and while it is only one extra weapon added there are many more different types of swords, hammers, and spears to choose from with varying magic’s and effects.
There are also a good number of new armors added and a rather rough customization option which lets you choose out of a select amount of different colors while basic it does allow you to pick yourself out of the death crowds you will often find yourself in.
Another great edition was a party up system which allows you to group up with three of your friends so you can strategize turning this game from a basic team free for all to groups of two taking key points with complimenting fighting styles making this game a much more fun experience than if it was to just be random.

Our Honest View gives God Of War: Ascension 4/5. While I would love to give this game a 5/5 for the excellent experience it gives, but the fact that it had to rely on multiplayer to save it and not an intricate and beautiful story as promised makes me knock it down to down. The saddest part is that it will not be the single player that makes you keep playing but the surprisingly well done multiplayer and even though it is still a good God of War Game with excellent combat and great set pieces it lacks the story that was promised which makes it only a good edition not a great one.
