So he's back again!
After the success and popularity of Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii he's back again and on the handheld this time! And something special about this one is it's in 3D!
The 3DS version will include two modes, "Original Mode" which plays the
same as the original Wii version, and "New Mode" which introduces a
handful of new items to make the game easier, including extra health.
The 3DS version will also contain an extra world with new levels not
present in the original Wii version. These other levels are rumored to be one's from the original Donkey Kong games from previous consoles.
From the looks of this trailer this game will be a more crystal clear version of the first. I'm glad that they're not changing much to it. But apparently they had to remake the game in order to implement the 3D component.
However the first game was extremely diffcult and a little lackluster for the story mode. I'm hoping these new features will add to the original and make the game the great concept it deserves to be.

As the old saying goes you truly can't judge a book by it's cover. I walked into this movie thinking it would be another terrible remake of a amazing horror classic like Hollywood is known for today!
Boy, was I wrong!
This movie was truly amazing, a great installment into the Evil Dead series which we found out isn't a reboot but a continuation to contribute to the other three movies to further the series meaning Ash must come back!
I wouldn't call this the scariest movie I've ever seen but I feel that may be a joke by the crew of the film since the previous films where known for some sort of humor. However this movie was definitely one of the most gruesome and bloodiest films I've ever seen.
Of course know movie is perfect and this particular movie had the good, bad and the ugly!
Let's start off with the bad seeing as it's the smallest complaint I had with the movie. Two things to be precise. For one I didn't like the fact that Bruce Campbell is not in the movie technically, but has a small but Campbell like cameo at the end of the film. Which can be seen here past the credits.
The other thing that bothered me with this movie is it's like a linear path but gets side tracked a few things with other sub plots that never really developed. The plot of this movie is good enough to last on it's own without them.
To defend my complaint about the movie I must also say that because the movie only has a 1 hour and a half running time it feels just right.
Now let's talk about the good, for one the plot is amazing. For once when a group of friends go into a cabin in the woods it's not for partying but for a intervention of Mia (Jane Levy). This was a then give away of who would be possessed seeing as she is seen as a sinner or junkie.
It's very predicable about when someone is going to pop up, but still somehow scary seeing as its freaking Evil Dead. Plus how demented and gory the deaths and possessed are, it adds that excitement that most horror movies are missing these days.
Of course once they find the book of the dead Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) can't help but read the infamous phrases to bring the dead. Even though the previous readers won't many comments on the book's pages about the dangers of using it. Curiosity kill the cat, I guess. His character was useful however because you need someone that stands out and understands what's going on. Of course no one listens until it's too late.
I also felt much sympathy for Eric he's constantly attacked by his possessed friends and doesn't die till the end of the movie (sorry) but constantly stabbed and shot. This get's me into my next thing acting.
Besides Pucci's character the others were perfect fillers for the other true main character Mia (Jane Levy) not only playing a junkie but also a possessed girl was phenomenal, she truly is scary. The group can't tell at one point if she's psychotic or possessed. It's truly flawless. What I love most about the acting is that it's mostly not well known actors.
This now leads us to the ugly. The book of the dead talks about dismemberment is one of the only ways to get the possessed out, so it's a must. Arms are chopped off, people are shooting nails at each other and Demon girl even splits her tongue with a box cutter to spread the evil.
The ending is most likely the gruesomest because like Ash, Mia has no choice but to severe her arm to fight the Evil. She most then take a chainsaw and slice and dice the demon after being attacked with a machete. This is paying homage to Ash's character who also used a chainsaw in the earlier films. Even the sky is raining blood which only seems to be sticking to Mia at certain points!
A little thing I liked about the movie is there is barley any nudity, just the demon body, though the camera constantly focuses on Mia's legs, which gives clue to how the demon enters her body. Very gruesome penetration that I don't think I can talk about on here.
I'm straying away from my point on the ending.
I said before I wished Bruce Campbell had a better cameo in the film, turns out the plan is for Mia to have her own Evil Dead experience then finally team up with Ash who is more experienced but not necessarily wiser.
Our Honest View gives Evil Dead 9.7/10. It's the little things that get me, and this horror movie is so basic, so simple with a amazing plot. Though it strays away from some subplots, it easily nips them in the butt to get back to it's main point.
